A Arquidiocese Metropolitana de Fortaleza celebrou , na quinta-feira (9/4/2026), na Catedral, uma Missa em Ação de Graças pelos 300 anos de Fortaleza. A Eucaristia foi presidida pelo arcebispo de Fortaleza, dom Gregório Paixão, OSB, e reuniu fiéis, autoridades e representantes da Sociedade para marcar este momento histórico. Embora a data oficial do tricentenário de Fortaleza seja 13/4 , a Celebração foi antecipada devido a compromissos pastorais do arcebispo dom Gregório, possibilitando assim sua presença neste momento significativo para a Igreja e para a Cidade. A Missa marca um momento de memória e valorização da identidade do povo fortalezense, construída ao longo de três séculos. Em mensagem, dom Gregório recorda as origens da capital cearense, que remontam à chegada dos europeus e à construção do antigo Forte Schoonenborch, pelos holandeses.
